The Choir always is looking for new voices. Prior experience is not required but is most welcome. Each Sunday, and on special occasions, the Choir provides the liturgical music for High Masses offered at St. Anne Catholic Church.+CONTENT+The St. Tarcisius Group is a monthly family gathering with the goal of training children how to meditate from an early age. Meetings include a spiritual talk and a short meditation guided by Fr. Dorsa, a family rosary and potluck dinner. Meetings are in the homes of families in the group so the location varies from month to month. It’s also a great way to meet more families especially if you are new to the parish. Meetings are 5 – 7:00 pm on the third Saturday of the month.While we have a list of families so that we can send out reminders, your family is welcome even if you are not on the list. The Youth Group normally meets on the third Friday of each month in the church hall after the 6:30 pm Mass. Meetings typically consist of a meatless potluck dinner, social time, games and a talk by Father Lyons on some aspect of our faith. The Youth Group occasionally prepares and serves breakfast in the Church hall for the parish. We also have periodic outings, such as a hike in the mountains, a bonfire and volleyball at the bay, etc. The Youth Group is a great place for teenagers to socialize with others who share their same values, and to grow in the knowledge of their faith. Legion of Mary has been approved by Pope John Paul II and endorsed by the second Vatican Council. The main purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members. Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through prayer and service works which include evangelization to fallen away Catholics, assisting conversions into the catholic faith by door to door visitations, Religious Education, Pilgrim Virgin Statue visits, and Sacred Heart Enthronements. Our legion is under the guidance of our spiritual director Fr. Mahowald given to us by our Pastor Fr. Gismondi FSSP. Parents attending either Mass are able to drop off their children of ages 6 months to 5 years. The nursery is a parish member volunteer based program. All volunteers are subject to a background check prior to their services. Each volunteer acquires a copy and follows the Code Of Ethical Standards implemented by the Diocese of San Diego. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Volunteers are placed on a schedule to clean once a month with the choice of Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.The church is cleaned once each weekend using this schedule: 1st and 3rd Friday evenings after the 6:30 PM Mass Approximately 7:30-9:30 PM 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings after the 9:00 AM Mass Approximately 10:00 AM – 12:00 noonThere are two groups at each cleaning session: one to clean the sanctuary (altar area) and the other group to clean the nave (pew area). Every First Friday the homeschooling families meet for the Mass at 9 am Mass. After Mass there is an activity which is usually accompanied by the priests. This activity can range from putting together gift bags for the homeless, to cleaning the gravestones at the Catholic cemetery, to sports at a nearby park.
